An article appeared the day before yesterday about (former) Bunq employees who frequently looked into customer accounts. Unfortunately, this is not the only example of employees abusing their powers or violating codes of conduct. What is striking is that this behavior seems to be normalized among employees. Therefore, it is very important for companies to take seriously signals that indicate violations of rules of conduct or abuse of authority before such behavior becomes normalized.
Of course, a signal does not yet mean that there has actually been a violation of rules of conduct. Therefore, having an independent study conducted is important to verify this. Private investigation agencies can assess whether there is sufficient cause to investigate the employee(s) and determine the scope and extent of their conduct.
